Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

1. Our Core Privacy Principle: PostGIS Geolocation Protection

At MTG Radar, physical privacy is our top design priority. When you enable location sharing on the radar, your raw, exact GPS coordinates (such as your home or exact building) are NEVER transmitted or broadcast to other users.

Server-Side Deterministic Jitter: Our PostgreSQL / PostGIS database applies an automatic ±300 meter pseudorandom offset to your location before query results are delivered to nearby players. Other players only see that a planeswalker is active within an approximate neighborhood or commercial district.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: Username, email address, avatar photo, and bio.
  • Magic Preferences: Preferred formats (Commander, Modern, Pioneer, etc.), Power Brackets (1–5), and availability status.
  • Coarse Location Data: Approximate device latitude and longitude when the app is active and location permission is granted.
  • In-App Interactions: Time-bounded match petitions, ratings, feedback, and match history.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to provide and improve the MTG Radar platform:

  • To display nearby active Magic: The Gathering players on the radar map.
  • To facilitate match requests, game lobbies, and table reservations at Local Game Stores.
  • To calculate anonymous community trust scores and ensure safety through moderation.
  • To notify you about accepted game requests and store tournament schedules.

4. User Controls & Privacy Settings

You maintain full control over your privacy at all times:

  • Hidden Mode: You can switch your radar status to Hidden at any moment, which immediately removes you from the map.
  • Blocking & Reporting: Blocking another player immediately cuts off all radar visibility, messaging, and game requests bidirectionally.
  • In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data directly inside the app: navigate to Profile → Settings (gear icon) → Account Management → Delete Account. For full instructions, visit our Account Deletion Guide.

5. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure

We rely on trusted, secure cloud infrastructure providers including Supabase (PostgreSQL Database, Auth & Storage) and Google Cloud / Firebase (Push Notifications, Crashlytics). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third-party data brokers or advertisers.

6. Contact Us
